Snow Disruption at Frankfurt Airport
Heavy snowfall forced a temporary shutdown of arrivals and departures at Germany’s busiest airport.

Snow Disruption at Frankfurt Airport: Flights Temporarily Suspended
At Frankfurt Airport, Germany’s largest airport, flight operations were temporarily halted due to heavy snowfall that began affecting the area in the afternoon.
In a statement, airport operator Fraport AG said that as of 3:00 p.m. local time, all departures and arrivals were fully suspended. Continuous snowfall led to a thick layer of snow on the runways, preventing safe operations.
A Fraport spokesperson added that once the runways are cleared, flights are planned to gradually resume around 4:15 p.m. local time.
Authorities advised passengers to check their flight status with airlines or official channels before coming to the airport. Due to the heavy snow, delays and cancellations are expected throughout the day.
